The fact that King Minos is usually described as a warrior king while the Minoan Culture, which inhabited Crete during the Bronze Age and was named after King Minos, was an icredibly peaceful civilization. They never showed much, if any, ambition to conquer any of their Aegean neighbors, as they usually utilized diplomacy to solve any conflicts, and there are few depictions of warriors and war, all of which (iirc) stem from the last Minoan Period before its downfall which (the last Minoan Period) coincides with the Late Bronze Age Collapse (around 1200BC) - that would be a reasonable time for even the most peaceful society to become more martial. Either way, look more into the Minoan culture. It's overlooked by many and really fascinating!
